About me
Wendy Rex Atzet, Ph.D., is a public historian at the Utah Historical Society, where she manages public history and National History Day® programs. She has almost 15 years’ experience as an NHD state coordinator in Utah and Colorado. She serves on the National History Day (NHD) executive coordinator's council, and on the board of directors for the National Council for History Education (NCHE). Wendy is passionate about helping young people connect with history through hands-on, relevant learning experiences. She is inspired by the students who discover the relevance of history in their own lives. She received her doctorate in U.S. history from the University of Colorado at Boulder, with an emphasis on history of the American West. She holds an M.A. in history from San Diego State University, and a B.A. in communications from the University of Utah.
