About me
With over 35 years of experience in education, Rick Gaisford has been at the forefront of the field of educational technology. He has worked to integrate technology into teaching and learning, making a significant impact at the classroom, school, district, and state levels.He has worked at various levels, including classroom, school, district, and state, to integrate technology into teaching and learning. Rick has held a variety of positions, including elementary school teacher, school technology specialist, district technology specialist and trainer, state Internet specialist, and state education technology specialist.
In his current role, Rick works with districts, schools, and the state network, UETN, to effectively integrate technology tools and resources into teaching and learning. He supports state initiatives such as Utah’s Portrait of a Graduate and PCBL (Personalized Competency-Based Learning) and helps oversee Utah’s Digital Teaching and Learning program, which was implemented by the Utah State Legislature in 2016. This legislation has provided over $180 million to bring technology into all classrooms in the state and to assist in personalizing education for each student.
