Adobe for Primary Grades
Tuesday February 25, 2025 1:30pm - 3:30pm MST
Come meet my favorite powerhouse app, Adobe Express! Learn how our primary students can use Adobe's digital media tools to tell stories, express ideas, and respond to texts. It combines images, music, voiceovers, video clips, text, and animation to create a powerful narrative and impressive presentations. Add in Adobe's AI features and the possibilities are endless! Our students are not only capable of using Adobe Express, but quickly become experts leveraging the different tools to create artifacts in all subjects. Let's help our young students learn the joy of being creators of content instead of only consumers!

Digital Projects Playbook: A Guide to Empowering Students as Creators
Tuesday February 25, 2025 2:00pm - 3:00pm MST
Ask any student what they want to be when they grow up and most say Influencer, YouTuber, or Content Creator. Even if they say doctor, they really mean doctor who makes TikToks. What if, instead of asking, “How much content can students consume in a year?” we instead ask ourselves, \"How much content can our kids create?\" In this workshop, John Arthur, Utah’s 2021 Teacher of the Year, shares his step-by-step guide for supporting students in creating digital projects in the classroom: blog posts, presentations, podcasts, and short films. Throughout this session, John will share specific tips & tricks for implementing these digital projects, along with project overviews, rubrics, and other reproducibles he’s created to help guide students in their creative work.

Technology-Powered PBL: Creating Chinese Picture Books
Wednesday February 26, 2025 12:45pm - 1:45pm MST
In this session, explore how technology can transform project-based learning (PBL) in a dual immersion classroom. Mr. Tao will share an innovative PBL project in which his 6th-grade students create original Chinese picture books for their 3rd-grade \"buddies.\" This project integrates various educational technologies, including SchoolAI for brainstorming and drafting, Adobe Gen AI for generating illustrations, Canvas as a hub for PBL management, and Bookcreator.com for final book production. Participants will gain insights into how these tools can support students throughout the entire book creation process—from interviewing younger students to determine their interests, to drafting, illustrating, and producing a finished digital book. Learn how technology not only enhances student creativity but also fosters meaningful cross-grade collaboration and engagement.
