"This is Water": Perspectives and Lessons Learned from Utah State Board of Education's AI Education Specialist

Generative AI has become a key tool for many educators, but due to a lack of understanding and clarity on how AI in education can be used, some educators may feel unprepared for using AI in safe and effective ways. Utah State Board of Education's (USBE) forward thinking leadership hired an AI Education Specialist in 2024 to help prepare our education system for AI use with best practices in data, privacy, and curriculum development at the forefront. Join this session to learn about how USBE has led out on work within their local and state communities while also building a network of like-minded educators across the country.
