In this session, you'll discover how to design a dynamic, engaging, and impactful conference that teachers will look forward to, even during the summer months. Learn strategies for creating sessions that captivate educators, addressing their needs, interests, and professional growth while also making the experience feel fun and rewarding. Since 2007, Weber School District has hosted a summer professional learning opportunity for its teachers—The Learn Conference. Through the years, the popularity of this event has continued to grow. What started as a small opportunity to learn about edtech in the summer for a handful of teachers has turned into a professional learning conference with 400+ participating teachers and administrators over 120 different learning sessions. We’ll explore creative ways to balance professional learning with elements that foster excitement and connection. Participants will also hear about strategies for generating support from key LEA stakeholders, finding the right people to volunteer time, and connecting with worthwhile keynote speakers. From unique session formats to integrating opportunities for networking, collaboration, and hands-on learning, you’ll leave with practical ideas to make your conference a must-attend event. We'll also discuss how to leverage technology and innovative presentation methods to keep teachers engaged and energized throughout the conference.
